West Aussie Fur Frenzy (WAFF) 2026

West Aussie Fur Frenzy (WAFF) is a furry convention hitting its 10th year in Fremantle, Australia, from 28 to 31 August 2026. This is the only major furcon in Western Australia, so it draws a dedicated crowd from across the region. The 2026 theme is Leveled Up, marking a decade of community growth with a focus on gaming culture, creativity, and connection. It is an 18+ event, so bring valid photo ID matching your registration details to get through the door.

The venue is the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges, a 4.5-star property right in the heart of the historic port town. You are within walking distance of the Fishing Boat Harbour, local markets, and oceanfront parks, which makes for some great fursuit photo spots. The weekend is packed with panels, performances, and a Dealers Den featuring local and interstate artists. You can expect a mix of competitive gaming tournaments, cozy workshops, and late-night socials that keep the energy high without feeling overwhelming.

Guest of Honour OROCKSEAL, a collaborative art duo of Niftji and Norangcha, will be showcasing work inspired by video games, streetwear, and Korean folklore. The event also supports Aussie's Raptor Rehabilitation Association, continuing its tradition of local charity work. Whether you are a seasoned attendee or a first-timer, the vibe is warm and inclusive. Just remember that day passes are limited and sold on-site only, so arrive early if you are planning a short visit. It is a solid weekend for meeting new friends and enjoying the unique coastal atmosphere of Freo.
