Pawsome

Thu, 1 Oct 2026 - Mon, 5 Oct 2026

Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hall Hotel, Bondend Lane, Upton St Leonards, Gloucester, GL4 8ED, United Kingdom, Gloucester, GB

Pawsome 2026 is an annual residential furry convention held at the Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hall Hotel in Upton St Leonards, Gloucester. Taking place from 1 October to 5 October 2026, the event secures exclusive use of the four-star country house hotel and its grounds, ensuring a private environment where the general public is excluded. This year’s theme is Beach Party, a relaxed aesthetic chosen to be accessible and fun for all attendees, regardless of their wardrobe. The schedule runs from midday Thursday to midday Monday, providing ample time for socialising, attending programmed events, and enjoying the company of fellow community members. The convention is distinguished by its liberal "You Do You" dress code, which encourages diverse forms of anthropomorphic expression beyond traditional fursuits. While animal-themed costumes are encouraged, the policy welcomes latex, spandex, and other materials, provided they adhere to coverage rules and do not cause offence. Pawsome is an 18+ event, requiring all attendees to present valid identification upon badge collection. The venue offers a comfortable setting with a full programme of activities, including a Dealers' Den, community showcases, and social events, all designed to foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. Registration for 2026 is structured into three components: a mandatory Convention Attendance fee, a Residential Supplement for accommodation and meals, and a small booking agency fee. The event places a strong emphasis on community support and inclusivity, with previous years raising funds for local charities. Located in the southwest of England, Pawsome aims to provide a gold-standard experience for the UK furry community, offering a unique blend of traditional convention elements and a relaxed, private party atmosphere.

Aberacon

Fri, 28 Aug 2026 - Sun, 30 Aug 2026

Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel, The Princess Margaret Way, Port Talbot, SA12 6QP, Wales, United Kingdom, Port Talbot, GB

Aberacon is a small, bilingual furry convention happening in Port Talbot, Wales, from 28 to 30 August 2026. It takes place at the Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel, right on the Aberavon seafront. The event is deliberately capped at 150 attendees plus staff, keeping the vibe closer to a large gathering of friends than a busy convention floor. If you have found bigger UK cons overwhelming, this is a comfortable place to meet people and actually talk to them over the weekend. The 2026 theme is Glywysing, named for the early medieval Welsh kingdom that covered this part of the south-east coast. The programming leans into the Mabinogion, King Arthur's knights, and the hounds of Annwn rather than generic fantasy. Every public page on the official site carries a full Welsh translation, so the language is treated as native to the event, not just a novelty. It is the only furry convention in Wales, run by the WelshFurs community, and it has grown from a free one-day gathering into a full weekend event. The venue sits on a Blue Flag beach, which is one of the longest in Wales. On a clear day, the view runs across Swansea Bay to the Mumbles, making it an unusually good spot for fursuit photography. The host hotel is fully booked for the weekend, so attendees are encouraged to find their own accommodation in the surrounding area. Registration is closed, but there is a waiting list by email for anyone hoping to get a returned place.
