AnthroExpo (AnEx)

AnthroExpo (AnEx) is an annual furry convention taking place in Norman, Oklahoma, from May 27 to 30, 2027. This year, the event shifts from its usual February slot to Memorial Day weekend due to hotel renovations. The venue is the Embassy Suites by Hilton Norman, which shares a building with the John Q Hammons Conference Center, keeping everything under one roof. It is a four-day hotel-based event that typically draws close to 1,500 attendees, making it a significant gathering for the central US furry community.

The 2027 theme is Maskfurade. Programming includes standard convention fare like panels, special guests of honor, and dance parties, but AnEx is particularly known for its unique marketplace called The Bazaar. This setup merges the Dealer's Den and Artist Alley into a single, streamlined shopping space. You can also expect game room competitions and a pool toy party. The convention is run by the Scissortail Fandoms organization, with mascots Andrea the Scissortail Flycatcher and Exavier the Prairie Dog.

If you are planning to attend, note that the Saturday night event, Anthro AfterDark, is 18+ only. The entire con floor changes age rating for this session, so adults need to be wristbanded at the info desk with photo ID.
