Furry Retreat

Furry Retreat is an 18+ furry campout held at Robbers Cave State Park in Wilburton, Oklahoma, from 28 October to 2 November 2026. This is the event's eleventh year, continuing a tradition that began in 2015. Unlike standard conventions with fixed panels and dealer halls, Furry Retreat is a small, self-organised gathering where attendees build the schedule together. The event takes place in Group Camp Two, a scenic area within the state park known for its local outlaw history. Participants bring their own shelter and food, while the community fills the time with shared activities and downtime.

The programme is designed to be relaxed and communal, with no fixed lineup. Campers post their own games, crafts, and socials on a shared board, allowing the vibe to remain informal. Standing traditions include fireside opening and closing ceremonies, Fajita Friday, and board game nights hosted by staff. Other planned activities for 2026 include a knitting circle, a Camp Chimera camper meetup, high tea, an art jam, and a movie night. The atmosphere is described as a "village-style" gathering where everyone pitches in to keep the weekend running smoothly.

A car is essential for attendance, as public transit is not practical for reaching the park. The site provides kitchen facilities and water, but attendees must pack their own camping gear. Registration is available via pre-registration or at the door, with day passes also offered on-site. The event focuses on nature, friendship, and simple fun, offering a low-key escape for those seeking a tight-knit community experience away from large urban conventions.
