FurGIV

FurGIV (Furry Gathering in Vietnam) is a community-driven furry convention based in Hanoi, returning for its 2026 edition on 19 September at the Grand Vista Hotel in the Ba Dinh district. The event operates under the theme “Pawful of Chalk,” a playful school-day motif designed to evoke nostalgia and foster a welcoming environment for both local and international attendees. The venue has been upgraded from previous years to provide a more comfortable setting for socialising and exploring the creative work on display.

The 2026 guest of honour is Chucky, a freelance artist specialising in comics and webtoons with a focus on medieval fantasy and slice-of-life narratives. Attendees can expect a dealer’s den featuring art and merchandise, alongside programming that aligns with the classroom-inspired theme. The event maintains a strict age policy, requiring all participants to be over 16 years old to purchase tickets and attend.

FurGIV positions itself as a safe space for the Southeast Asian furry scene, actively inviting international guests to connect with the local community. The organisers emphasise inclusivity and the celebration of Vietnamese culture through yearly themes, making it a notable gathering for fans in the region. Ticket sales are conducted in waves via the official registration portal, with specific tiers offering varying levels of perks and access.
