Lakeside Furs (LSF) is a week-long furry convention held at the Karlingerhof am Achensee in Achenkirch, Austria. Running from 4 to 12 July 2027, this event brings together a small, dedicated group of around 70 participants for a full week of shared living by Lake Achensee. The entire hostel is rented exclusively for the con, meaning you will not share the space with civilian guests. It is a deliberate retreat format, focused on community and nature rather than a packed schedule of panels and guests. The venue itself is a big part of the appeal. You get access to a large garden, a sports hall with a climbing wall, and direct proximity to the lake for swimming. The programming leans heavily into the outdoors, with two group hikes and one excursion planned for the week. One of these hikes is a programmed trip to the Krimml Waterfalls, the tallest in Austria. There is also an indoor Food Exchange where attendees bring and swap home-country specialties, adding a nice communal touch to the daily meals. LSF has a unique, practical side to its logistics. Dinner and breakfast are prepared on-site, and registration includes an opt-in for kitchen-shift duty, so everyone pitches in. If you are bringing a dog, the event treats them as first-class citizens with a specific registration line item, though there is a hard cap of three dogs total. The minimum age is 16, with parental consent required for those under 18. It is a relaxed, intimate con that fills a specific niche in the German-speaking furry scene, perfect for those who prefer a slower, more personal pace.
